Terms
Terms of sale
What you're agreeing to when you order from us — in plain language.

What these terms cover
These terms apply to every order placed on forkettamtl.com with Forketta (Forketta Epicerie Gourmet S.E.N.C.). By paying for an order, you accept them. They sit alongside our privacy policy, which explains what we do with your information.
We wrote them to be read. If anything is unclear, ask us — the contact details are at the bottom of this page.
Ordering online
Our menu shows each dish with its price in Canadian dollars. Some dishes have a minimum quantity, and there may be a minimum order total; both are shown before you pay. GST and QST are added at checkout, and so is the delivery fee if you choose delivery. The total you see on the payment page is the total you pay.
We need time to prepare your food properly, so the earliest date you can order for is shown at checkout. Menus and prices can change, but the price you pay is the one shown when you order.
You don't need an account to order. Your order confirmation and status are sent to the email address you give us.
Payment
You pay in full when you place your order. Payment is handled by Stripe on its secure page — your card details never pass through us.
Confirming your order
Paying places your order; it doesn't confirm it yet. We look at every order — the date, the dishes, the address — and confirm it by email within 48 to 72 hours, sooner when your event is close. If we can't take an order — a date we can't do, a dish that has just sold out, an address outside where we deliver — we'll tell you and refund you in full to your original payment method, within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
Changing your order
To change something — a quantity, the address, a note — reply to your confirmation email as soon as you can. Small changes are usually fine. If a change affects the price or the date, we'll tell you how it works before anything moves.
Cancelling your order
You can cancel within 24 hours of paying, or before your event begins — whichever comes first. Write to us by replying to your confirmation email, and we'll refund you in full to your original payment method, within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
After that, the order is final: by then we've bought the ingredients and planned the kitchen around your date.
The one exception is on our side. If a dish becomes unavailable after your order is final, we'll tell you and refund that dish in full to your original payment method, within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank. We don't offer credits.
Delivery
We deliver to the address you give us at checkout, on the date of your event. We'll agree a delivery time with you when we confirm your order.
Someone must be there to receive the food. If nobody is there and we can't reach you, we'll leave the food only if it's safe to do so; otherwise we'll bring it back and get in touch, and the order can't be refunded.
Pickup
If you choose pickup, your order is ready at our address, at the time we agree when we confirm your order.
Your food, once it's with you
Everything we make is prepared fresh for your date. Once the food is handed over, keep it refrigerated until it's served. Storage, reheating and cooking instructions come with your order. We can't be responsible for food that hasn't been stored or handled as instructed.
Allergies and dietary needs
Tell us about allergies and dietary needs in the notes when you order — we take them seriously and use that information for one thing only, preparing your food safely. Our kitchen handles common allergens, including nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs, seafood, sesame, soy and mustard, so while we take every care, we can't guarantee that any dish is completely free of them.
If something isn't right
If there's a problem with your order — something missing, something not as ordered — tell us the same day, by replying to your confirmation email or at the address below. We'll make it right: a replacement where we can, otherwise a refund for the part that was wrong.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.
When things are out of our hands
If severe weather, a road closure or another event beyond our control means we can't deliver or prepare your order, we'll tell you as soon as we know and offer to reschedule or refund you in full.

Quebec law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec. If we disagree about something, talk to us first — we'd rather fix it. You can also contact the Office de la protection du consommateur.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in force when you placed it.
These terms exist in French and English. If the two versions differ, the French version prevails.
